Email Notifications and Communications

How Tickts handles email communications for events.

Automated Emails

Tickts sends over 30 different email types automatically. From order confirmations to ticket deliveries, event reminders to post-event follow-ups — your fans receive professional, branded communications without you lifting a finger.

Key Email Types

  • Order confirmation — sent immediately after purchase
  • Ticket delivery — individual tickets with QR codes
  • Event reminder — sent before the event
  • Post-event — thank you and feedback request
  • Transfer notifications — when tickets are transferred
  • Payment plan updates — instalment confirmations and reminders

Branding

All emails use the Tickts brand design — clean, professional, and focused on the important information. The consistent design builds trust with your fans.

Automated Email Notifications

Tickts automatically sends email notifications at key moments in the ticket lifecycle. These emails keep fans informed without requiring any action from the organiser:

  • Order confirmation: Sent immediately after purchase with ticket details, QR codes, and event information. This is the fan primary reference for their booking.
  • Ticket transfer notifications: Both sender and recipient receive emails when a transfer is initiated and completed.
  • Refund confirmation: Sent when a refund is processed, confirming the amount and expected timeline for the money to appear in the fan account.
  • Payment plan reminders: Fans on payment plans receive notifications before upcoming instalments and alerts if a payment fails.
  • Event reminders: Optional reminders sent to ticket holders before the event with venue details, parking information, and any last-minute updates.

Organiser Communications

Organisers can send targeted communications to ticket holders through the Tickts platform:

  • Event updates: Notify attendees about schedule changes, venue updates, or important information they need before the event.
  • Post-event follow-up: Thank attendees, share photos, and promote upcoming events to people who already know and enjoy your events.
  • Marketing campaigns: Send promotional emails to past attendees about new events, early-bird offers, or season pass availability.

Email Deliverability

Tickts uses industry-standard email infrastructure with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication to ensure emails reach fans inboxes rather than spam folders. Order confirmations and ticket deliveries are treated as transactional emails with high deliverability priority.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I customise the email templates?

Automated emails (order confirmations, refund notifications) use standard Tickts templates that include your event branding. Marketing campaign emails give you more control over content and formatting.

Can fans unsubscribe from marketing emails?

Yes. All marketing emails include an unsubscribe link, as required by UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. Transactional emails (order confirmations, ticket deliveries) cannot be unsubscribed from as they are essential to the service.

How do I send an update to all ticket holders?

Go to your event in the organiser dashboard, select "Communications," and compose your message. You can send to all ticket holders or filter by ticket type.

Making the Most of Event Communications

Strategic communication before, during, and after events builds stronger relationships with your audience:

Pre-event (1 week before): Send a reminder email with practical information — parking details, public transport options, food and drink available, what to bring, and any last-minute updates. This reduces no-shows and ensures attendees arrive prepared.

Day of event: A morning-of reminder for afternoon/evening events, especially useful for events where people might forget or deprioritise. Keep it short: "See you tonight! Doors at 7pm. Your QR ticket is ready in your email."

Post-event (within 24 hours): Thank attendees, share highlights, and announce your next event. This is when enthusiasm is highest and the conversion rate for future ticket purchases is at its peak.

Segment your communications where possible. First-time attendees might receive different messaging than returning fans. VIP ticket holders might get exclusive content. Season pass holders might get insider updates. Relevant, targeted communication performs significantly better than one-size-fits-all blasts.
